Saturday August 8th we flew into Seattle and headed west with the Enterprise. We came across a nice little rest area at Wanapum Lake.
The area was up on a hill overlooking the valley.
I don't remember the story behind them but these metal horses were cool.
Me coming down from the top where the horses were(that was quite the vertical climb). I won't show the pictures take immediately after this of me sliding down as the rocks gave way under my feet. Jeff was quite giddy about getting those pics. No injuries but my pride.

Later that day we stop for a flight near Ritzville, WA.
Jeff caught me flying down a road.
We continued our jouney towards Yellowstone but had to stop for another flight. Deer Lodge, MT had a little airport that worked out great.

Jeff looking down on me getting ready.

The beautiful Montana countryside.
Me again...Jeff takes most of the flying pictures.
It's always good to have flown.

On Monday we arrived at Yellowstone. http://www.nps.gov/yell/index.htm

Earthquake Lake...it was formed in 1959 when an earthquake caused a massive landslide into the Madison River.
Moose! The one time I didn't want to see one was as I was driving out of the park after dark a full grown moose appeared out of the dark on the shoulder. Warning signs where everywhere to drive slowly for this very reason, trust me I slowed down after that!

As Jeff likes to say "Wherever we put that door becomes our backyard". This was indeed a great place to be.
We came across a crowd of people along the roadside watching something. We decided to go check it out too. There were some Buffalo in a field roaming wild. We went through a wooded area in case one charged at us we could hopefully escape harm.
A young girl with her parents walked out from the safety of the trees to get a closer look. I remember thinking are you not going to say something to your child?
Apparetly he didn't like this and stood up and shook off the dust he had been wallering in.
Not looking exactly excited to see us.
Of course the girl did run back into the woods but let me tell you we were all scared for a few seconds.
